Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Alliston is not a municipality: it is the largest community in the Town of New Tecumseth. The Town's 2026 ward layer (NT_Ward_Boundaries_2026 on maps2.simcoe.ca, the layer behind the Town's 2026–2030 Ward Map) puts Alliston in new Wards 1, 2 and 3 (the /local centre point 44.151174, -79.869661 falls in new Ward 2). This record carries the Mayor and Deputy Mayor races and new Wards 1–3.
- Ward boundaries change at this election (eight wards → seven). Sitting councillors' `seat` values are their 2022–2026 wards; candidates' wards are the new 2026 wards. The Town's 2022–2026 ward layer (NT_Ward_Boundaries) puts Alliston mostly in old Wards 1, 2 and 3, with fringe points in old Wards 4 and 5; only the old Ward 1–3 councillors are carried. Chris Rapin (old Ward 1) and Wendy Gabrek (old Ward 2) run in the same-numbered new wards; old Ward 3 Councillor Paul Foster is not on the certified list.
- Deputy Mayor Stephanie MacLellan is a certified candidate for Mayor against Mayor Richard Norcross (with Jaison Waldman), leaving the Deputy Mayor race between Marc Biss (sitting Ward 5 Councillor) and Steven Dollmaier. No seat was acclaimed.
- Certified list from newtecumseth.ca's 'New Tecumseth Votes' page (certification 2026-08-24; PDF 'New Tecumseth Certification of 2026 Municipal and School Board Election Candidates' linked from it; retrieved 2026-10-09). It prints addresses and phone numbers — not copied. Candidate emails kept only where on a campaign domain or plainly a campaign mailbox; apparently personal addresses left null. No websites are given.
- Sitting council from the Town's 'Meet Your Mayor & Council' page (2026-10-09); member email links there are not rendered as addresses, so official emails are null.
