Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Ancaster is not a municipality: it is a community in the City of Hamilton (amalgamated 2001). This record carries the Hamilton mayoral race and Ward 12, the ward that covers Ancaster. jurisdiction.name is Hamilton; seat is the ward.
- Candidate source: the City of Hamilton's Certified Candidates page (re-checked 2026-10-09: 13 Mayor candidates; Ward 12 — Fred Bennink and Craig Cassar). Sitting members from the City's council member pages.
- Mayor Andrea Horwath and Ward 12 Councillor Craig Cassar seek re-election. Ward 8 Councillor Rob Cooper is a candidate for Mayor; he is shown as a mayoral candidate only (status running, previousOffice 'Sitting Ward 8 Councillor') because Ward 8 is not Ancaster's ward.
- No acclamations in the races carried here.
