Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Candidates from the City of Belleville's 'List of Certified Candidates — Municipal Council, as of August 24, 2026 @ 3:45 p.m.' (PDF linked from https://www.belleville.ca/council-and-administration/council/municipal-election/), read 2026-10-09. The list prints telephones: not copied. Candidate emails kept only when not free-mail or campaign-named.
- Sitting council from the City's 'Councillors' page and 'Mayor's Office' page. Ward 1 elects six councillors at large within the ward; Ward 2 (Thurlow) elects two.
- Ward 1 Councillor Lisa Anne Chatten is not on the 2026 list; Mayor Neil Ellis and the other seven councillors all seek re-election to their own seats. Kelly Henderson (since June 2025) and Margaret Seu (since October 2024) joined council mid-term.
- No acclamations (Ward 1: 14 candidates for 6 seats; Ward 2: 4 for 2; Mayor: 4). Nomination papers were not opened.
