Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Ridings covering the municipality (share of its land area on a sample grid, not population — Represent census subdivision outline vs Élections Québec's 2026 riding map): Châteauguay 99.6%. Slivers under 3.0% ignored: Huntingdon 0.1%.
- Châteauguay: Félix Rhéaume (PLQ/QLP) elected with 12,343 votes, 35.76%, ahead of Yannick Trudeau (PQ, 27.96%) by 2,692 votes (7.8 points). Outgoing MNA Marie-Belle Gendron (ÉCF-CAQ) ran here and was defeated, placing 3 of 7 with 13.51%.
- Results are validated: Source flags isResultatsFinaux=true for all 127 ridings (official results after the recensement des votes), last updated 2026-10-08T10:13:52,000-04:00. Élections Québec states the Rapport des résultats officiels du scrutin prevails over web content; judicial recounts, if any, are not reflected here.
- Riding map: Élections Québec's 2026 map (https://donnees.electionsquebec.qc.ca/autres/geojson/circ_2026_sanseau.json, 127 ridings). Represent (represent.opennorth.ca) carries only the 2017 Quebec map (used in 2018 and 2022); its 2017 riding at this centre is Châteauguay.
- Municipal council from Ville de Châteauguay's council page (https://ville.chateauguay.qc.ca/affaires-municipales/conseil-municipal/) and each member's page (sourceDetail), retrieved 2026-10-09: maire + 10 district councillors (the city moved from 8 to 10 districts for the 2025 election); no municipal party printed. District 2 is printed 'District de Primot (2)' although its page slug says Filgate. Last municipal general election 2025-11-02 (Quebec fixed date — first Sunday of November 2025; confirmed on official pages of Ville de Longueuil, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Boucherville). Record-level election left as the 2026 provincial election; council rows carry the 2025 municipal election.
