Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Elmira is not a municipality: it is the main community of the Township of Woolwich. This record carries the Woolwich mayor (sitting and candidates) and Ward 1 — the Elmira ward, two councillors — only. Wards 2 and 3 (St. Jacobs, Breslau, Conestogo, Maryhill and rural Woolwich) are left out.
- Mayor Sandy Shantz is not on the certified list, so the mayoralty is open. Both sitting Ward 1 councillors are on the ballot: Evan Burgess for Mayor and Nathan Cadeau for Ward 1 again.
- Eric Schwindt, sitting Ward 2 councillor, is a mayoral candidate; he appears here only as a candidate.
- Carlene Hawley withdrew from Ward 1 before certification and is not included.
- The township's signed Official List of Certified Candidates (Notice N3) is a scanned PDF; names here come from the township's List of Candidates page, which marks each as "Nomination certified".
- Candidate home-community names and phone numbers on the township page are not copied; emails kept only where campaign-named.
