Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Fergus and Elora are not municipalities: both are communities in the Township of Centre Wellington. This record holds the township Mayor race and the township wards covering the two communities, plus the Wellington County wards on the same ballot.
- Ward mapping, checked against the township's own Wards GIS layer (gis.centrewellington.ca Wards MapServer, point queries 2026-10-09): Elora lies in Wards 1 and 2; Fergus in Wards 3, 4 and 5, with its north-eastern edge in Ward 6 (Ward 6 is otherwise rural, east to Belwood). All six wards are therefore carried. Per the township's voter-information table, township Wards 1 and 3 (and most of 5) vote in County Ward 5; Wards 2, 4 and 6 in County Ward 6; part of Ward 5 (poll 001) in County Ward 4.
- Candidates from the township's Official List of Candidates page (with the certified-list PDF and an amended EL20 Declaration of Acclamation), retrieved 2026-10-09: 5 for Mayor, 17 for Ward Councillor, 4 for County Councillor. County Councillors Mary Lloyd (County Ward 5) and Diane Ballantyne (County Ward 6) are marked ACCLAIMED on the township page.
- Sitting township council from the township's Mayor and Council page (all serving since 2022); member pages show no email addresses, so emails are null. Sitting County Councillors for Wards 4–6 and their emails from the County of Wellington 'Meet Your Councillors' page. Councillor Bronwynne Wilton (Ward 5) is running for Mayor; Councillor Denis Craddock (Ward 6) is not on the certified list. Steve O'Neill files as Stephen O'Neill.
- Street addresses and phone numbers on the township list are not copied; candidate emails are kept only where they name the campaign or a campaign domain.
- Acclaimed: Mary Lloyd — County Councillor, County Ward 5 (no other certified candidate; elected by acclamation, kept as status running with acclaimed: true).
- Acclaimed: Diane Ballantyne — County Councillor, County Ward 6 (no other certified candidate; elected by acclamation, kept as status running with acclaimed: true).
