Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Gloucester is not a municipality: the former City of Gloucester was amalgamated into Ottawa in 2001 and its area is now split across several wards. This record carries the Ottawa mayoral race and three wards that are the core of former Gloucester: Ward 10 Gloucester-Southgate (the one ward still bearing the name), Ward 11 Beacon Hill-Cyrville (Beacon Hill, Cyrville, Rothwell Heights — former Gloucester; the record's centre point falls here) and Ward 22 Riverside South-Findlay Creek (named Gloucester-South Nepean until the 2022 ward boundary review). Parts of former Gloucester also lie in Ward 2 Orléans West-Innes (Blackburn Hamlet), Ward 18 Alta Vista and Ward 19 Orléans South-Navan; Wards 2 and 19 are carried on the Orléans record.
  • The City of Ottawa's own website blocks automated access (Imperva); rows marked unofficial come from Wikipedia's '2026 Ottawa municipal election' article (which transcribes and cites the City's nominated-candidates list) and are corroborated name-for-name by CTV News Ottawa's 'Meet the candidates' articles (mayor and each ward); they should be checked against the municipality when it can be read.
  • Nominations closed 2026-08-21; CTV News Ottawa reports 181 certified candidates city-wide (mayor, council, trustees). Two council seats were acclaimed elsewhere in the city (River, Rideau-Jock) — not in this record.
  • Websites and socials are the links CTV News Ottawa printed for each candidate (cross-checked with Wikipedia's campaign-site citations). No official @ottawa.ca emails captured (ottawa.ca unreachable). No phone numbers or addresses recorded.
  • Federal and provincial representatives are from a Represent point lookup at the community centre (unchanged from the earlier record).
  • 2026-10-10: sitting mayor and councillor rows confirmed against the City of Ottawa's official open dataset 'Elected Officials 2022-2026' (open.ottawa.ca, ArcGIS layer; Open Government Licence – City of Ottawa v2.0): Mark Sutcliffe (at large), Jessica Bradley (Ward 10 (Gloucester-Southgate)), Tim Tierney (Ward 11 (Beacon Hill-Cyrville)), Steve Desroches (Ward 22 (Riverside South-Findlay Creek)). These rows are now official (unofficial: false; old Wikipedia source kept as previousSource). Candidate rows are unchanged and stay unofficial (2026 candidate lists are not in open data). The dataset lists Matthew Luloff (Ward 1, 'Matt' in this record) and carries Ward 20 Osgoode twice: George Darouze (2022-11-15 to 2025-02-27) and Isabelle Skalski (2025-06-18 to present).
