Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Goderich elects its council at large: no wards.
- Candidates from the Clerk's Form 15 Official List of Candidates (2026; linked from https://www.goderich.ca/town-hall/elections/), which prints each candidate's home address and phone — neither is copied. Emails kept only where the mailbox names the campaign; personal free-mail, ISP (hurontel) and business addresses are left null.
- ACCLAIMED: Randy Carroll (sitting Councillor) is declared acclaimed as Deputy Mayor by the Clerk's Form 10 Declaration of Acclamation to Office dated 24 August 2026 (https://media-002-ca.cdn.govstack.com/goderich-014-ca/media/sbemp43m/form-10-declaration-of-acclamation-to-office.pdf).
- Mayor Trevor Bazinet seeks re-election (vs Steve Buchanan). Councillors Liz Petrie, John Thompson and Vanessa McMillan seek re-election. Deputy Mayor Leah Noel and Councillor Allison Segeren are not on the list.
- The council page's mailto link for Councillor McMillan points to vkelly@goderich.ca while the displayed address is vmcmillan@goderich.ca; the displayed address is recorded.
- Nomination papers were not opened: they carry home addresses. No phone numbers recorded; emails only where official (@municipality) or clearly campaign addresses.
