Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Ridings covering the municipality (share of its land area on a sample grid, not population — Represent census subdivision outline vs Élections Québec's 2026 riding map): Joliette 100.0%.
- Joliette: Véronique Venne (PQ) elected with 18,368 votes, 45.04%, ahead of Clodine Desrochers (ÉCF-CAQ, 17.72%) by 11,141 votes (27.32 points). No outgoing MNA ran in this riding (per Élections Québec's candidate file); the source does not say who held the seat before the 2026 map or whether they retired.
- Results are validated: Source flags isResultatsFinaux=true for all 127 ridings (official results after the recensement des votes), last updated 2026-10-08T10:13:52,000-04:00. Élections Québec states the Rapport des résultats officiels du scrutin prevails over web content; judicial recounts, if any, are not reflected here.
- Riding map: Élections Québec's 2026 map (https://donnees.electionsquebec.qc.ca/autres/geojson/circ_2026_sanseau.json, 127 ridings). Represent (represent.opennorth.ca) carries only the 2017 Quebec map (used in 2018 and 2022); its 2017 riding at this centre is Joliette.
- Municipal council from Ville de Joliette's 'Mairie et conseil municipal' page (https://www.joliette.ca/la-ville/democratie/mairie-et-conseil-municipal, retrieved 2026-10-09): mayor + 8 district councillors. The page confirms the general election of 2 November 2025; mayor Pierre-Luc Bellerose and councillors Beauséjour (1), Lafortune (3), Landry (5) and Lasalle (6) were returned by acclamation on 3 October 2025 (close of nominations); Bertinotti, Leduc, Landreville and Elkes were elected at the poll. Luc Beauséjour is maire suppléant. The council page prints no party (see the Élections Québec note for the one party label). Record-level election field left as the 2026 provincial election. Emails are the official @ville.joliette.qc.ca addresses.
- Cross-checked against Élections Québec's official 2025-11-02 general-election results (https://www.electionsquebec.qc.ca/resultats-et-statistiques/resultats-election-municipale/MUN_61025/17213/; data https://donnees.electionsquebec.qc.ca/production/municipal/scrutin/MUN_61025/17213.json, results FINAUX): every sitting member matches the declared winners; party field from that file (blank = no party). Party: Élections Québec's results file prints Michael Lafortune (district 3) under 'Direction citoyenne Joliette'; all other members ran without a party.
