Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Lindsay is a community of the single-tier City of Kawartha Lakes, not a municipality. This record carries the Kawartha Lakes mayor race (sitting Mayor + all certified mayoral candidates) and the wards that cover Lindsay: Ward 5 (whose south boundary runs along Kent Street through Lindsay) and Ward 7 (lands south of Ward 5 and west of Ward 6), per the City's Ward Boundaries descriptions. The mapping of Lindsay to Wards 5 and 7 is from those boundary descriptions; check the City's ward map for the town's eastern edge.
- Sitting Mayor and councillors from the City's Get to Know Your Council page (official emails), retrieved 2026-10-09. Mayor Doug Elmslie is not on the certified list.
- Ward 6 Councillor Ron Ashmore and Ward 7 Councillor Charlie McDonald (on the ballot as 'Charles McDonald') are certified candidates for Mayor; Ashmore's row is included as a mayoral candidate though his Ward 6 seat is outside this record. Ward 7 is therefore an open seat. Ward 5 Councillor Mark Doble seeks re-election.
- Voting runs 9 a.m. 2026-10-16 to 8 p.m. 2026-10-26. The City's notice lists names only (no contact details). No Mayor, Ward 5 or Ward 7 seat was acclaimed.
