Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Markham's /local region is the whole city; the mayor race, the four at-large Regional Councillor seats and all eight wards are included.
- Certified list from markham.ca (Elections Markham 'Who's Running', retrieved 2026-10-09). The City's 2026-08-24 news release states 63 certified candidates: 3 Mayor, 11 Regional Councillor, 30 Ward Councillor, 19 trustee — the council counts match this record. No council seat was acclaimed.
- electionsmarkham.ca (the vanity election domain) returns a JavaScript bot-challenge (HTTP 247, Reblaze) to non-browser clients; not worked around. The same content is served on markham.ca, which was used.
- Ward 6 Councillor Amanda Yeung Collucci is a certified candidate for Regional Councillor (runningFor Regional Councillor), leaving Ward 6 open. Deputy Mayor/Regional Councillor Michael Chan and Ward 3 Councillor Reid McAlpine are not on the certified list.
- Sitting council from markham.ca's Regional & Ward Councillors page and the Mayor's Office page (2026-10-09); emails are the official @markham.ca addresses printed there.
- The candidate list prints candidate-supplied phone numbers — none copied. Candidate emails are kept only when on a campaign domain or plainly a campaign mailbox (e.g. vote…@); apparently personal addresses are left null.
- School trustee candidates are on the same page but are not captured.
