Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Paris is a community inside the County of Brant (a single-tier municipality), not a municipality. This record carries the County's mayoral race plus only the wards covering Paris: Ward 2 (Paris north of the Grand River and rural area to the west) and Ward 3 (Paris south of the river, to Highway 403), per the County's Ward 2 and Ward 3 maps (https://www.brant.ca/council-and-county-administration/council-and-committees/wards/). Each ward elects two Councillors.
- Candidates from the County of Brant 'Certified Candidates' page, read 2026-10-09. The page prints some street addresses and phones: not copied. Emails kept only when not free-mail or campaign-named.
- Sitting council from the County's 'Mayor and Councillors' page, with @brant.ca addresses. Ward 1 Councillor Jennifer Kyle is included only because she is a candidate for Mayor; the other Ward 1, 4 and 5 councillors are outside Paris and omitted.
- Mayor David Bailey is not on the 2026 list (six mayoral candidates). Ward 2: Councillor Steve Howes seeks re-election; Councillor Lukas Oakley is not on the list. Ward 3: Councillors John Bell and John Peirce both seek re-election.
- No acclamations for Mayor or for Wards 2-3. (The page lists David Miller — the sitting Ward 4 Councillor's name — under 'Withdrew'; outside this record.) Nomination papers were not opened.
