Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Election date October 28, 2026 confirmed on the City's election page ('A general election will be held on October 28, 2026').
- Mayor: the City's Candidates page states Sharilyn Knox (incumbent) 'has been elected by acclamation for the Office of Mayor ... therefore there will be no election for this position'. She is recorded as incumbent-running with acclaimed: true.
- Council: the City gives notice that voters will elect six Councillors from eight duly nominated candidates. All six sitting councillors (Doyle, Espey, Masi, Meier, Nicholls, Porter) are on the ballot, with two new candidates (Arishya Aggarwal, Bonnie Bieganski). Registered prospective candidates who did not file nominations (e.g. Ainsley Campbell, named in local press as registered) are not included.
- The City's candidate notice gives names only — no websites or emails — so candidate website/email are null; sitting members carry their official @city-plap.com addresses from the Council page.
- photoUrl for sitting members is the official portrait on the City's Council page (linked, not copied); the page states no reuse terms.
- School Trustees (Portage la Prairie School Division Ward 1) were all acclaimed; skipped here.
