Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Ridings covering the municipality (share of its land area on a sample grid, not population — Represent census subdivision outline vs Élections Québec's 2026 riding map): Saint-Jean 73.7%; Iberville 25.9%. Slivers under 3.0% ignored: Chambly 0.3%, Huntingdon 0.1%, La Prairie 0.1%.
  • Saint-Jean: Gaétan Bédard (PQ) elected with 15,061 votes, 35.62%, ahead of Patrice Léger-Bourgoin (PLQ/QLP, 18.7%) by 7,155 votes (16.92 points). No outgoing MNA ran in this riding (per Élections Québec's candidate file); the source does not say who held the seat before the 2026 map or whether they retired.
  • Iberville: Camille Pellerin-Forget (PQ) elected with 12,755 votes, 35.51%, ahead of Mathieu Guérin (PCOQ, 22.13%) by 4,807 votes (13.38 points). Outgoing MNA Audrey Bogemans (ÉCF-CAQ) ran here and was defeated, placing 3 of 7 with 18.82%.
  • Results are validated: Source flags isResultatsFinaux=true for all 127 ridings (official results after the recensement des votes), last updated 2026-10-08T10:13:52,000-04:00. Élections Québec states the Rapport des résultats officiels du scrutin prevails over web content; judicial recounts, if any, are not reflected here.
  • Riding map: Élections Québec's 2026 map (https://donnees.electionsquebec.qc.ca/autres/geojson/circ_2026_sanseau.json, 127 ridings). Represent (represent.opennorth.ca) carries only the 2017 Quebec map (used in 2018 and 2022); its 2017 riding at this centre is Saint-Jean.
  • Municipal council from Ville de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu's council page (https://sjsr.ca/conseil-municipal/, retrieved 2026-10-09), which states the council 'a été élu le 2 novembre 2025 pour un mandat de quatre ans': maire + 12 district councillors; no municipal party printed; no councillor email addresses published (the mayor's page lists staff addresses only, not copied). Last municipal general election 2025-11-02 (Quebec fixed date — first Sunday of November 2025; confirmed on official pages of Ville de Longueuil, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Boucherville). Record-level election left as the 2026 provincial election; council rows carry the 2025 municipal election.
