Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Stoney Creek is not a municipality: it is a community in the City of Hamilton (former City of Stoney Creek). The City's OpenHamilton 'Ward Boundaries' layer puts the /local centre point (43.227819, -79.756451) in Ward 5, lower Stoney Creek east of there in Ward 10, and upper Stoney Creek (on the Mountain) in Ward 9. This record carries the Hamilton mayoral race plus Wards 5, 9 and 10. Ward 5 (Redhill) also takes in east-end Hamilton neighbourhoods outside Stoney Creek.
  • Ward 10's seat shows as 'Vacant' on the City's Ward 10 page (2026-10-09), so no sitting Ward 10 councillor is carried; Jeff Beattie, still named for Ward 10 in the OpenHamilton ward layer, is marked WITHDRAWN on the certified list. Michael T. Loomans is marked WITHDRAWN in Ward 9 and remains certified in Ward 10.
  • Ward 5 Councillor Matt Francis and Ward 9 Councillor Brad Clark are running again in their wards; Mayor Andrea Horwath is running again.
  • Candidate list from hamilton.ca's Certified Candidates page (retrieved 2026-10-09). Candidates marked WITHDRAWN there are excluded. The page prints some candidates' home addresses and phone numbers — neither copied. Its candidate email addresses are hidden behind Cloudflare email obfuscation; they were not decoded, so candidate emails are null. The page gives no websites.
  • Sitting council from hamilton.ca's Mayor page and ward pages (2026-10-09); official councillor emails from the City's OpenHamilton 'Ward Boundaries' feature service (EMAIL field). No mayor email was printed on the Mayor page.
  • Ward 8 Councillor Rob Cooper is a certified candidate for Mayor; school trustee candidates are not captured. No Hamilton council seat was acclaimed.
