Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Election date Wednesday, October 28, 2026 confirmed on the Town's Notice of Election.
- Candidates are from the Town's Notice of Election ('a vote of the Electors of the Town of The Pas will be taken to elect one (1) Mayor and six (6) Councillors from the following duly nominated candidates'), posted 2026-09-23 as an image on the Town's Announcements page; names were read from that image (it was viewed, not kept). The Town also posted a 'Candidate Disclosure' notice (offence disclosures under Manitoba's election Act), not opened or summarised.
- Mayor Andre Murphy is not on the 2026 ballot; the mayoral race is open (Herb Jaques, Ralph McLean, James Ridderikhoff). Councillor Margaret Commodore is not on the ballot. The other five sitting councillors (Deputy Mayor Carrie Atkinson, Gary Hopper, Trent Allen, Randy Manych, Larry Forster) are running for re-election among ten candidates for six seats. No acclamations.
- The Town's council page spells the councillor both 'Gary' and 'Garry' Hopper; the Notice of Election and his email (garyh@) use 'Gary'.
- Mayor Murphy has no individual entry or email on the council page (he appears only in the group-photo caption), so his email and photoUrl are null. Councillors carry their official @townofthepas.ca addresses and the official portrait URLs from the council page (linked, not copied; no reuse terms stated).
- The notice gives names only, so candidate website/email are null.
- Trustees: the Town's notices do not list school trustee races; The Pas is in the Kelsey School Division, whose trustee election is not captured here.
