Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Thunder Bay is a single-tier city; the /local region is the whole city, so the mayor race, all five at-large seats and all seven wards are included.
- Candidate source: the City Clerk's 2026 Election Candidate Profiles page, which lists every candidate by office (with 'profile information not available' where none was submitted); ten Mayor candidates, consistent with one candidate's statement that there are 'nine other candidates for Mayor'. The City's 'candidate nominations certified' news release (https://www.thunderbay.ca/en/news/candidate-nominations-certified-for-the-2026-municipal-and-school-board-races.aspx) returns 404 after a site migration, so the attached certified list could not be opened; re-check against it when the City restores it.
- Sitting council from the City's Meet Your City Council page (retrieved 2026-10-09). Councillor At Large Shelby Ch'ng is shown there as 'At Large - Resigned' and is not carried as sitting.
- Councillor At Large Trevor Giertuga is a candidate for Mayor (runningFor Mayor). Mayor Ken Boshcoff, Red River Councillor Michael Zussino, Northwood Councillor Dominic Pasqualino and Westfort Councillor Kristen Oliver are not on the 2026 candidate list.
- No acclamations: every office is contested.
- The page prints candidates' phone numbers; none copied. Candidate emails kept only where campaign-style; personal-looking ISP/webmail addresses left null.
- School trustee candidates are on the same page but are not captured.
