Notes on this record
How the lists were read, and what could not be.
- Trenton is not a municipality: it is a community in the City of Quinte West, and it is the city's Ward 1 (Trenton Ward). This record holds the Quinte West Mayor race plus Ward 1 only; jurisdiction.name is 'Quinte West'.
- Candidates from the city's election site, quintewestvotes.ca 'List of certified candidates' (nominations closed 2026-08-21), retrieved 2026-10-09: 3 for Mayor, 10 for the five Ward 1 seats. Phone numbers are not copied; emails are kept only where they name the campaign or a campaign domain.
- Sitting council added (UNOFFICIAL): Mayor Jim Harrison and Ward 1 Councillors Zack Card, Michael Kotsovos, David Hugh O'Neil, Duncan Armstrong (2022 results, Wikipedia's 2022 Ontario municipal elections; Global News' 2022 Quinte West results list the same winners) and Leslie Roseblade (appointed November 2025 after Councillor Sally Freeman died; InQuinte.ca). Harrison is not running in 2026 and Card is running for Mayor (InQuinte.ca, July 2026).
- Existing candidate rows are unchanged, so Card's and Roseblade's candidate rows still read status 'running' / incumbent false; Card is a sitting Ward 1 councillor running for Mayor (not incumbent in that office), Roseblade is a sitting Ward 1 councillor running again in Ward 1 (incumbent-running).
- www.quintewest.ca (Mayor and Council page) returned a Cloudflare challenge on 2026-10-09 and was not retried.
- Quinte West's own website blocks automated access; rows marked unofficial come from Wikipedia, Global News and InQuinte.ca and should be checked against the municipality when it can be read.
