Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Ridings covering the municipality (share of its land area on a sample grid, not population — Represent census subdivision outline vs Élections Québec's 2026 riding map): Abitibi-Est 99.9%. Slivers under 3.0% ignored: Abitibi-Ouest 0.1%.
  • Abitibi-Est: Stéphane Tremblay (PQ) elected with 7,192 votes, 34.65%, ahead of Jean-Philip Girard (PCOQ, 22.2%) by 2,583 votes (12.45 points). Outgoing MNA Pierre Dufour (PLQ/QLP) ran here and was defeated, placing 3 of 6 with 20.68%.
  • Results are validated: Source flags isResultatsFinaux=true for all 127 ridings (official results after the recensement des votes), last updated 2026-10-08T10:13:52,000-04:00. Élections Québec states the Rapport des résultats officiels du scrutin prevails over web content; judicial recounts, if any, are not reflected here.
  • Riding map: Élections Québec's 2026 map (https://donnees.electionsquebec.qc.ca/autres/geojson/circ_2026_sanseau.json, 127 ridings). Represent (represent.opennorth.ca) carries only the 2017 Quebec map (used in 2018 and 2022); its 2017 riding at this centre is Abitibi-Est.
  • Municipal council from Ville de Val-d'Or's Conseil municipal page (https://www.ville.valdor.qc.ca/conseil-municipal, retrieved 2026-10-09): Mayor (Serge Allard, 'Maire depuis 2025') + 8 district councillors. Last municipal general election 2025-11-02 (the city's event 'Dévoilement des résultats de l'élection municipale 2025', https://www.ville.valdor.qc.ca/fr/evenements/devoilement-des-resultats-de-l-election-municipale-2025, dated 2025-11-02: only the mayoralty and district 2 were contested). The page prints Cathy Elliott Morneau's title as 'Conseiller municipal ou conseillère municipale', so her office is given as 'Councillor'. No municipal party printed (party null). The council page publishes no member email addresses. Record-level election field left as the 2026 provincial election.
