Notes on this record

How the lists were read, and what could not be.

  • Ridings covering the municipality (share of its land area on a sample grid, not population — Represent census subdivision outline vs Élections Québec's 2026 riding map): Soulanges 51.9%; Vaudreuil 47.3%.
  • The centre point is 19 m from a riding boundary on Élections Québec's simplified (50 m tolerance) map; treat the single-point riding with care.
  • Vaudreuil: James Hughes (PLQ/QLP) elected with 18,783 votes, 46.75%, ahead of Meili Faille (PQ, 19.86%) by 10,803 votes (26.89 points). No outgoing MNA ran in this riding (per Élections Québec's candidate file); the source does not say who held the seat before the 2026 map or whether they retired.
  • Soulanges: Olivier Bertin-Mahieux (PLQ/QLP) elected with 14,174 votes, 35.51%, ahead of Francis Deroo (PQ, 25.36%) by 4,050 votes (10.15 points). Outgoing MNA Marilyne Picard (ÉCF-CAQ) ran here and was defeated, placing 4 of 7 with 13.85%.
  • Results are validated: Source flags isResultatsFinaux=true for all 127 ridings (official results after the recensement des votes), last updated 2026-10-08T10:13:52,000-04:00. Élections Québec states the Rapport des résultats officiels du scrutin prevails over web content; judicial recounts, if any, are not reflected here.
  • Riding map: Élections Québec's 2026 map (https://donnees.electionsquebec.qc.ca/autres/geojson/circ_2026_sanseau.json, 127 ridings). Represent (represent.opennorth.ca) carries only the 2017 Quebec map (used in 2018 and 2022); its 2017 riding at this centre is Vaudreuil.
  • Municipal council from Ville de Vaudreuil-Dorion's council page (https://www.ville.vaudreuil-dorion.qc.ca/fr/la-ville/conseil-municipal/maire-et-conseillers-municipaux) and each member's page (sourceDetail), retrieved 2026-10-09: maire + 8 district councillors; no municipal party printed. Last municipal general election 2025-11-02 (Quebec fixed date — first Sunday of November 2025; confirmed on official pages of Ville de Longueuil, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and Boucherville). Record-level election left as the 2026 provincial election; council rows carry the 2025 municipal election.
